Monday, October 29th, 2007

There is hardly any Belarusian (and nowadays Russians and Ukrainians) who do not know what the Naroch is. Not so long ago it was simply known as one of the largest lakes in Europe but now it is quite a popular brand that is known far beyond the borders of the republic. Here you can have a really qualitative rest in numerous resorts, hotels, restaurants and bars.

The area near Lake Naroch is called the National park of the republic and was established by the president of the country in 1999. The official name of the area is State Nature-preserving Establishment “National Park “Narochanskiy”.

The park performs numerous functions apart from the one of tourism and they are as follows:

• The preservation of the unique lakes of the Narochanskiy district
• The realization of numerous scientific researches
• The development and introduction into the practice of scientific methods of nature preservation
• Tourism development
• The organization of the ecological education of population
• And surely the preservation of the cultural heritage of the district.

One of the most vivid advantages of the Narochanskiy district is surely its location. The peculiar combination of the landscape, natural growth and reservoirs, their high aesthetic qualities and the climate influence the state of health, emotions and the mood of people immensely which makes the district extremely attractive for family rest and the process of invigorating.

now_you_can_have_a_good_rest_in_belarus.jpgA certain question must have aroused in your mind: is it possible to preserve the nature in the district where tourism is developing? Surely it is a hot issue nowadays and it is one of the most topical one. For this very reason it was decided to create not a mere “tourist attraction” but a real national park where all the rules of nature preservation should be observed. It is very important to cause as little damage to the nature as possible.

State Nature-preserving Establishment “National Park “Narochanskiy” is the place that receives the people who go there for getting the contact with nature and it is the perfect place for that.

Also the park is divided into separate “zones” each of which has its own purpose and its own rules.

Reserved zone (8.4% of the whole territory) – here no person is allowed to be without a special permission. All possible activities are forbidden in this area except for scientific researches.
Regulated usage zone (57.6% of the territory of the park) – the area meant for mowing, cattle pasture, berries and mushrooms gatherings and fishing. Also excursions are permitted in the area and other tourists` activities.
Recreation zone (1.2% of the whole territory) – is meant for the tourist recreation including the resort complexes for the rest and medical treatment. Beaches, parks and meadows are at your disposal.
• And finally agricultural zone which occupies 32.8% of the whole territory of the park.

Each country is famous for its places meant for the rest and recreation. For Belarus it is the Narochanskiy district which attracts not only the citizens of the country but also the visitors from the neighborhood.

What Everybody Ought to Know Before Betaking to the Sea

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

It is the fact that having a rest on the territory of the former USSR becomes more and more expensive. A few years ago such resorts as the Crimea or the spas in Caucasia were thought to be the cheapest ones especially compared to those that are located in faraway counties, like Cyprus or Turkey. More and more people form Russia and other neighboring countries like Belarus or Ukraine prefer having a rest in those lands, but not in the limits of their own ones.

The reality is that the resorts in such places as Sochi, the Moscow area, spas in Caucasia, the lake Seliger and the Crimea are becoming unbearably expensive though the quality of the service according to the view point of the visitors leaves much to be desired.

It is rather hard to say what this tendency is connected with but the fact is that nowadays it is considered even more profitable to visit faraway countries and enjoy the summer or winter holidays to the full extent there.

Lying on the beach is one of the favorite pastimes of the people who free from the everyday routine in order to have a really good rest in the atmosphere of exotics and relaxation. Surely it is even better when you have the opportunity to economize on your rest as well. During the soviet times the so called “nativetourism was in, and besides was affordable practically to everyone.

Yalta and Alupka have always been though of as the favorite places to visit by the soviet people. Nowadays the situation has changed. It is becoming more and more difficult to spend the holidays after the old way. The Crimea makes the visitors loosen their purse-strings to such an extent that even foreign countries begin to seem quite cheap.

what_everybody_ought_to_know_before_betaking_to_the_sea.jpg

The basic components of any kind of rest are surely the entertainment, qualitative food and comfortable rooms. And this is it that becomes more and more expensive. So as the result the visitors that got used to quite a cheap rest have to leave with the shocking feeling that is unlikely to over in a short period of time. That is why many people, and especially young ones, prefer to rent the lodgings without any intermediaries. But still a lot depends on the location of the room. The closer it is to the sea, the more expensive it is.

But even if you have managed to rent a room cheap, do not relax. You will all the same spend the definite amount of money on various kinds of entertainments. Besides, the local cafes and restaurants seem to be overpriced compared to the horrible service.

It is evident that most of the resorts of the neighboring countries have to be improved. At times it is even better to overpay a little bit and go to the country where you will be sure of your own security and the service you have to be provided with. In any case the problem of place choosing for summer holidays is a hot issue for the travelers nowadays. The only thing I can add here: good luck!

Traveling is one of the most exciting things when it comes to the “problem” of how to spend your days off or holidays. It is clear that we all are humans and the change of scene is a necessity in order to always keep fit and enjoy ourselves. That is why traveling may become an excellent way out in the matters of how to diversify your everyday routine.

But still some people may find any way of traveling either too expansive or too uncomfortable and these two facts may even prevent them from going on a really wonderful trip.

It is obvious that the more comfortable the means of traveling is the more it costs. But there are some definite ways to make it cheaper and enjoyable for you.

It is known that nowadays more and more people prefer traveling by plane and it is quite understandable as it saves a great amount of time. But still this means of traveling remains the most expensive one, though in some cases even this kind of transport may become cheaper for you. If you act in the right way you are more likely to get the best. In the case of the planes you can economize on the ticket price if you fly out at that time of day that is not so busy. This is usually the night time which guarantees lower prices for you and for those who are traveling with you. Besides, making some sort of a survey concerning which airline to choose will not be out of place. Just compare the prices and make sure that a particular airline company suits you in every respect.

The next and one of the most popular means of a trip is traveling by car. It is extremely popular among the US citizens as they are known to be really mobile when it comes to moving from one part of the country to another one. In case to save some money you’d better get to know which gas station in your region provides its customers with the cheaper gas and just fill up your car there. But still do not forget about the quality. At times it is really better to overpay some extra cents than damaging your car afterwards. Moreover if you have relatives or friends at the point of your destination you have a good chance to economize on lodgings. But do not be too impudent and tiresome.

Traveling by bus is surely the cheapest way of going on a trip. But here only your preferences do matter and if you don’t mind sacrificing your comfort, you are welcome.

It is also relevant to rely on cabs when arrived to the place you were intending to visit, but do not rent a car if you wish to save money. In any case the right way to spend the money will prevent you from wasting it on some trifles. Just be aware of the places and the means that let you economize during the trip.

Travel Abroad like Everyone Does

Monday, October 8th, 2007

Despite the fact that most of us consider traveling abroad to be a very exciting pastime each of us should be aware of the facts and events that can somehow spoil it. I guess there is hardly any person nowadays who is not informed about all kinds of problems they can come across while traveling to a foreign country and it is not necessarily a faraway one.

travel_abroad_like_everyone_does.jpgIt is especially relevant for the passengers with disabilities to get to know all peculiarities of their transportation and sojourn in the country of their destination.

It is remarkable that not every country can boast having so to speak non-discrimination laws that make it possible for all people with any kind of disability enjoy their travel. In other countries such measures are not provided which makes the transportation and the whole journey less comfortable and may be even humiliating.

Before going on a tour there are a couple of points that you have to discover. It is clear that disabled people need some special attention and it is necessary to provide them with all possible comfort.

•    While traveling on board the plane it is relevant to get to know about the services that are available there. Here luggage assistance, medical care and the ways of transportation are counted. It is necessary for the airport staff to be informed about the services you should really have and if needed to provide you with a wheelchair in order to make the transportation to and from the plane more comfortable.
•    Consult your physician about all the activities you can or can not be engaged in and take the prescriptions that may be needed in a foreign country with the generic names of the medicine.
•    One more tip concerning the medicine. Make sure that you have enough for the whole duration of your trip in order not to worry about purchasing it there.
•    In your case health insurance is a must. You never know what may happen on a trip but you can be sure that the medical aid will be provided. In this matter you need not worry about all unpredictable circumstances and be sure that everything will be all right.
•    It is also necessary to check the transportation rules for the service dogs in the airport and on board the plane if you need one. It is important to be aware of the vaccination or quarantine requirements and be sure that the country you are going to permits the transportation of this kind of animals.
•    And finally make a list of the places you are intending to visit which may help you find the common language with the citizens of the country you are visiting who may direct you in the case you are lost.

It is clear that traveling may cause some troubles especially to people with certain disabilities but it does not mean that such people should stay at home without traveling abroad. In this way they feel even more declined and they really deserve positive emotions as we all do. Traveling may become a nice relaxation for them, though of course it will not ease their life but at least will give them a chance to forget about their problems…for some time…

Now You Can Visit the Mir Castle in Belarus

Monday, October 1st, 2007

While traveling around Belarus it is impossible to miss the opportunity to get into the famous little town Mir that is located 100 km from Minsk and 30km from Nesvizh in Grodno district of the republic, or simply it is situated in the centre of the road that links ancient Belarusian towns Slutsk, Kopyl, Kletsk, Nesvizh, Korelichi, Novogrudok and Lida. The town has become known far beyond the borders of the country mainly thanks to its main architectural sight the Mir castle.

now_you_can_visit_the_mir_castle_in_belarus.jpg

The building of this very castle began long time ago, in the 16th century and during its 500 year history it underwent a lot of destructions that were caused by numerous wars that took place on the territory of today’s Belarus. Moreover, during its existence the castle changed not only its owners but also its own appearance. The general looks of this architectural monument is really unique as it includes many elements of the European styles in architecture such as gothic, renascence and baroque. The walls of the castle produce an unforgettable impression on its visitors as their height is up to 13 meters and the width reaches 3 meters. There are four many-tier towers and the fifth, which is the highest one, reaches the height of 25 meters and can be divided into 6 tires. Each of the towers has quite a unique appearance but at the same time they all are quite similar which makes them look just like one architectural ensemble.

In general the castle is a square building with the four towers mentioned above which protected its citizens during war times. A large underground vault represents a very developed system of subsidiary accommodation that is many times as big as the area on the surface. At the same time the castle is made of the red brick which is not considered to be very attractive as it is but the general looks of the castle performed with the help of numerous elements of different styles make you believe that even red brick can make the appearance of a building unforgettable and attractive.

Many years had passed before the reconstruction of the Mir castle began in 1983. Later in 1992 the museum opened there which attracted more and more tourists from many countries as well as those who live in Belarus. The work on reconstruction of the castle is continuing but even nowadays we may often here about various concerts that are held in the castle which makes the site one of the most favorite places of interest in the country.

Each country can boast having many places of interest that a tourist can visit. And it does not really matter what kind of city or town is represented as a historical place of interest. The capital of the country is not necessarily the heart of all international visits and even international meetings. And in general it is impossible to judge the country as a whole after having seen only its capital. The most interesting and the most remarkable places may be hidden in small towns and even villages like Mir, for example.
